It's really hard to date this dress. The silhouette, sophisticated panel details and the front twist detail could be anything from 1940s to '90s. This dress is machine sewn, and we thought perhaps the internal overlocking finish might mean that it's quite modern but the first overlocking/serging machines were being used in the late 19th century, so the mystery continues.
Regardless of her true provenance, this crinkle chiffon dress is softly sophisticated. There are rows of stitching around the neckline on the cap sleeves, which add subtle detailing. The bias cut panel inserts create a really flattering, fluid silhouette and also some fit flexibility.
This dress is in very good condition with no holes or marks that we have detected.
