This charming vintage dress from Lovebird looks lovingly handmade. The styling and silhouette suggest that it is likely early 1930s with the moderate neckline, cape style sleeves, dropped waist silhouette and below knee length (based on our mannequin being approximately 5'6" tall).
The fabric is sheer crinkle chiffon that we think is probably silk. The crinkle gives the dress texture and fluidity, as well as some fit flexibility. It's printed with a semi abstract floral pattern in tones of cream, peach and russet brown. There's a very sweet bow feature highlighting the front neckline, and another on the curved seam detail on the back. The flippy cape detail drapes over your shoulders and round to the back. The skirt section is bias cut.
This dress, although delicate, is in very good condition. There are a couple of slight pulls and very small holes, as shown in the final image, some of which are on the front. Because this dress looks to be handmade, the internal finish isn't terribly precise and some of the handsewn seams might benefit from being reinforced if you're planning on regular wear.
We consider this closest to a size 10. Please see our size guide.
NB whilst we have done our utmost to highlight any marks or imperfections, there may be some additional, very minor defects that we have missed.
