Made from two smooth discs of Lapis Lazuli and Bamiyan Turquoise, the ISHKAR flip pendant is designed so that you can choose whichever stone best matches your outfit by simply flipping the pendant over. It hangs from a handmade 28 inch chain with really intricate links that create an almost cage like effect. It fastens with a bar through a triangular housing that is the final creative touch to this unique design. We have this beautifully designed, handcrafted necklace in 925 Sterling Silver or 16 Carat Gold plate.

The deep blue lapis lazuli stone, which comes from high in the valley of Sar-e Sang in North Eastern Afghanistan. This iconic stone was once so exclusive it was reserved for the funeral masks of Pharaohs and for the brush tips of the Renaissance’s most renowned artists.
The green-toned, Bamiyan Turquoise (scientific name: Chrysocolla) is less well-known but equally striking.
On top of the amount ISHKAR pay the artisans, a further 10% of the value of this product goes towards the Turquoise Mountain Foundation. Turquoise Mountain supports Afghan artisans by providing them with three years of technical training, as well as a full range of business support following graduation. You can read more about the Foundation in our profile piece about Ishkar in our journal.
