Casa Cubista's Pipoca rug is named for its textural effect - pipoca means popcorn in Portuguese - which is beautifully highlighted by the black and cream colourway. This piece has been woven by Rui and Fernanda, the talented couple behind the small, family-owned mill that produces all of Casa Cubista's rugs and cushions.
These rugs are made from yarn spun by Rui, created from thread that has been recycled from the Portuguese fashion industry. They are produced on looms that are partly mechanised and partly manually operated.
Pipoca has cotton band at each end to finish it neatly, creating a lovely neutral contrast to the main design.
Sizes: Small 70cm x 140cm, Medium 100cm x 150cm
Composition: because these are made from a mixture of reclaimed threads, we can only approximate their composition as 80% cotton, 20% other fibres, and the bound ends are 100% cotton.
